Church is like a family meal, not a restaurant

In the Bible we see a beautiful description of the church being a body with many members, and each member having a unique part to play. We believe that as every single person gets involved in the life of the church we see more of the good gifts God has given put to work.

One of the key ways we facilitate this is through teams working together to help the church grow in our love for God and love for others. Below, you can find guides for different serving teams.

Through preparation and restoration of our venue, this diligent team creates a conducive environment for worship and socialisation - reflecting the character of our faith and family!

The worship team leads the congregation in worship through music and song, creating an atmosphere conducive to spiritual reflection, praise, and connection God - helping everyone engage with their faith in a meaningful way.

This team plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and effective execution of various technical aspects of church gathering.

Hospitality Team

This team contributes in facilitating a sense of belonging and community within the church, paying attention to all who enter its doors, especially newcomers and helping to create an environment where individuals can grow in their faith and relationships with one another. This is a mostly in-person but also has a digital role.

Youth & Children

The Youth and Children's ministry has a very special place in our church as we believe in investing in the next generation - as young arrows that will be sent out into the world. This ministry fosters in the young a love for God and His Word, and progressively equipping them to live out their faith in meaningful ways as they grow and mature.

Weekday kids Team

Our weekday creche helpers help provide a safe and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers while their parents/carers participate in church activities such as Bible study. We also have a babies and toddlers playgroup in the midweek to facilitate a sense of community and belonging for families with young children.

Venue Management

This team supports the mission and ministry of the church by maintaining a safe and functional facility, and creating a welcoming environment where people can gather to worship, fellowship and grow in their faith. They work behind the scenes to ensure that the physical infrastructure of the church supports and enhances the spiritual life of the congregation.

Livestream

Email Team Leader, Angus Andrew
Learn how to operate Wirecast our streaming software switching between camera shots and pre-recorded videos you are in charge of producing the stream to ensure a great experience for the viewer at home. This role is heavily technical so if you dislike computers this may not be for you but we will take the time to train you up and ensure you are prepared before throwing you onto a Sunday morning livestream team.

Commitment:
  • Early Sunday arrival at 9am to setup, test & preset programme

Sound

Email Team rep, Jon Green
Together with working with our livestream production team and musicians, you will help the congregation in the building and on the stream have the best aural experience. Training will be provided.

Commitment:
  • If scheduled on House Sound, to join Thursday evening rehearsal at 7.30pm
  • Early Sunday arrival at 9am for soundcheck

Lighting

Email Team Leader, Adrian Chiu
Operating lighting is relatively easy and you can be quickly trained - more important is a desire, and the aesthetic sense, to help people engage more deeply with what is going on by supporting that with lighting. If you have the gifting or interest, more sophisticated lighting programming is possible.

Commitment:
  • Early Sunday arrival at 9.30am to test slides and video sound on the programme

Slides

Email Team rep, Helen Symon
You will operate our slides app, Proclaim. This role will keep you on your toes, as you respond to the Host and programme line-up, changing slides sensitively and in a timely manner.
