A Place for Coworking in Community

What is Hope Desk?

Hope Desk is a free coworking space hosted at Hope City Church Edinburgh. Open to people of all faiths and none, the day is designed to encourage healthy daily rhythms for productivity, community, and spiritual encouragement. You can expect a professional, friendly environment, generous desk space, and free tea and coffee available all day. Private meeting rooms may be reserved. Please RSVP below. If it is your first time, please indicate your expected arrival time to arrange a brief orientation.

We are open Mondays and Thursdays, 7:45 AM - 6:00 PM

Note: When approaching from South Gyle Crescent, the entrance is on the left side of the building, around the corner from The Physiotherapy Clinics.

Practicing Daily Rhythms

Our daily rhythms are optional, but highly encouraged. It is not expected that everyone will participate in every aspect of the day. However, we do encourage attendees to take advantage of the rhythms as much as possible. They are a crucial part of our vision for fostering community and rhythms of Christian reflection.
  • Recommended Breaks: Breaks are encouraged but, of course optional. These take place outside of our designated coworking spaces - allowing those who need to continue working to do so. We would like to honour the varied demands of each remote worker, while creating shared rhythms for time-bound work and rest - encouraging productivity and community.
  • Prayer & Reflection: We will gather for a brief time of prayer/reflection three times per day. Outside of unavoidable work obligations, we would ask that those who attend attempt to make space for these within our daily rhythms. It’s a crucial part of our vision for fostering community and rhythms of Christian reflection.
  • Work Sessions: Time to get to work! Be mindful of one another and help us maintain a friendly, productive, and life-giving community.

Community Guidelines

  • Respect one another by maintaining a professional and friendly work environment.
  • No music without headphones.
  • Use headphones to take calls in the coworking room, and refrain from unnecessarily interrupting other workers.
  • If private office space is needed for a call, booking is required on a first come first served basis. Please only book these rooms when necessary.
  • This is a place open to workers of all faiths and none; however, when able, we encourage all to gather for our brief times of prayer and reflection - maintaining respect for those who may not call the Christian faith their own.

Security Notice: To provide a measure of security, motion activated cameras are present within the building (including our main coworking space). However, Hope Desk users assume responsibility for the safety of their belongings throughout the day.
