In Matthew 19:16-30, Jesus is asked by a wealthy young man how to attain eternal life. Jesus begins by establishing the standard of good and tells the man to keep all the commandments to which the man replies "all these I have kept...what do I still lack?"
Jesus suggest he give up his wealth to follow him. The rich young man turned away from Jesus, unable to give up his great wealth.
