This year we are returning with another 6 events at The Corner Room with a renewed focus on building community and sharing Jesus with the arts community. You can expect the same format as last year but with 12 new guests who will be experiencing church in the format of a live music event.

The Corner Room is an outreach project here at Hope City aimed at connecting musicians with followers of Jesus. Sometimes an invite to church on a Sunday is intimidating -  we've seen growth through inviting musicians to partner with us on live events - spending time with us planning, eating and sharing music together on the night of the gig.

This year we're introducing a discounted season pass for regular attendees, it's a great way to support this project financially and help us create opportunities to work with new artists! Click below to find out more:

An announcement for women in our church: 

We would like to make you aware of an upcoming event that may be of interest. The Scottish Women’s Bible Convention will be taking place in autumn 26', and it offers a valuable opportunity for women to gather for worship, Bible teaching, and fellowship.

On Saturday 3rd October 2026, the Scottish Women’s Bible Convention will be taking place at Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh. This event is a wonderful opportunity for women to gather together for worship and biblical teaching, all centred on our Lord Jesus. We’d love to encourage the women in our church family to consider attending.
Tickets are now available at swbc.brushfire.com, and you can use the code EARLYBIRD at checkout for a discounted price. This year’s speaker is Carrie Marlow, who will be teaching from the book of Hebrews on the theme “Jesus is Better.”

Following last year's word-for-word setting of Romans 12, I've this year set the prophetic book of Haggai to music and dance. This will feature a twelve piece band -- including many of our regular Sunday musical guests -- as well as three dancers.

Come and bring a friend as we explore through music and movement the message of rebuilding, hope, commitment, and God's presence.

Stepping out and sharing Jesus with people during the Fringe season can feel tricky... especially when Edinburgh is packed with an overwhelming number of people in a hurry to catch their next show!

If you're looking for a way to be involved in sharing your faith during the Fringe whilst avoiding the masses and the intense rush, The Corner Room is a great place for that. You'll not only have the opportunity to listen to some great live music in our cosy wee space, but you will also be able to spend time with the artists, the punters and our amazing volunteer crew, all of which are a mix of people who know and don't know Jesus!

To help encourage those deep meaningful chats with one another - we've deliberately kept the event capacity low. We're hoping that the arts community can get a taste of what a loving church community feels like over snacks and great music.

We've already sold out tickets for night 2 but tickets for night 1 are still available - we'd love to see you there :)

If you are over 18s, come along for an evening of food, community, and fun, while worshiping together!

Many of our biggest questions about our faith involve questions about suffering – whether we have been a believer for many years or are just starting out.  And when pain arrives in our lives we struggle to know how to deal with it in a God-honouring way. On Saturday 6th September, we’re going to be exploring God’s purpose in our suffering, and the grace of lament. Come and join us - there is hope, even in the darkest depths.

We're delighted to be hosting Fringe events for the third year running. Featuring some familiar faces to Hope City. These are great events to invite friends along to, to volunteer at, or to just simply come and support.

Friday 15th August: Alma, Juliette Lemoine and Chris Amer 
Juliette Lemoine and Chris Amer explore folk with originality and depth – Juliette’s groundbreaking cello, heard on her acclaimed album Soaring, meets Chris’s distinctive 5-string tenor guitar. Together, they push traditional music forward. Alma, 2025 Danny Kyle Award winners, unite singer-songwriters Anna Cassidy, Marina Rolink and Ellyn Oliver in lush harmony and thoughtful songwriting. Inspired by Joni Mitchell and The Staves, their music is warm, honest and heartfelt. Experience an evening of exceptional new Scottish music in the cosy atmosphere of The Corner Room.

Saturday 16th August: The Black Denims and Quick
The Black Denims are Scotland’s newest country supergroup. Fronted by Scott McPherson, the band hail from diverse musical backgrounds, blending disciplines of jazz, folk, bluegrass and country. With an emphasis on poetic lyricism and storytelling, the group are known for their energetic live performances. Quick are a self-described newgrass band based in Glasgow with honest lyrics and clean harmonies. They've played a number of high profile shows including Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall and King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. Expect toe-tapping performances while sitting on The Corner Room sofa.
